August 2026 Rigo Concept BSPTS Level 1 Course in NJ

In August 2026, seventeen physical therapists gathered in Eatontown, New Jersey, USA to complete the Rigo Concept–Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School (BSPTS) Level 1 Course - a six-day, hands-on introduction to physical therapy for scoliosis grounded in the original Schroth Method Principles.

Days combined classroom instruction with lab-based practice, giving therapists extensive opportunities to work through exercise approaches for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. Case discussions and small-group labs reinforced the Rigo Concept approach to scoliosis diagnosis, helping therapists apply its principles consistently across a range of scoliosis treatment options.

A major focus throughout the week was learning when and how Rigo Concept exercise techniques fit into a broader plan of care. Therapists also worked through clinical scenarios highlighting non-surgical scoliosis treatment, sharpening their judgment on when scoliosis treatment without surgery is the right path forward. As the instructor emphasized throughout the course, there's no single answer to how to treat scoliosis: curve pattern, patient age, and scoliosis prognosis all shape the plan, often as part of a broader, multidisciplinary continuum of care.

Participants left Eatontown, New Jersey, USA with a clearer framework for bringing evidence-based scoliosis treatment into their own clinics and for guiding patients and families through where non-surgical care fits within that larger continuum. Therapists traveled from across the United States to attend, reflecting growing interest nationwide in specialized, evidence-based scoliosis treatment.
